EACE Limb Trauma Education Series

Please join the Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence, Office of Knowledge Management, for our April 2025 Limb Trauma Educational Series.

In 2024, the Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence launched a dedicated health services research program, signaling a major commitment to improving care for service members with limb loss and limb absence. This dynamic research team is driven by three core objectives:

  • Characterize: Develop a comprehensive profile of the Military Health System's limb loss and absence population, including demographics, etiology, level of limb loss, and incidence and prevalence of limb loss.
  • Evaluate: Conduct rigorous research to uncover evidence that directly informs clinical practice and policy decisions, ensuring the best possible outcomes for this population.
  • Advocate: Generate robust data and evidence to inform best practices, advocate for necessary resources, and ultimately elevate the standard of care for service members living with limb loss and absence.

Tammie Jones, Ph.D. will introduce you to the DOD Amputation Care Network and dig into the results from research conducted to date.

This educational event is open to everyone, so please feel free to share the information widely.
